My local exchange is quite far from the house. All broadband providers (inc SKY) can only provide me with 17 Mb/s download and 1 Mb/s upload. I'm looking at other solutions to my speed, but wish to keep a landline due to elderly parent.
Is this possible without taking SKY broadband?

In all honesty, I doubt the price difference would be significant as with Talk on its own you'll still be paying the line rental charge (~£19pm?) which would ordinarily be included in the broadband/Talk bundle.

thanks @Mark39 , I think you may be right . Will ring later today and see if they can seperate the 2 products for a long term customer.

This is because of the big switch off of the old telephone network coming in 2025.

Reading between the lines, I got the impression that the OP was looking at an alternative, non Openreach solution for broadband, hence only needing a phone service on the existing copper cable.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Mark39It lookslike it. I am not even sure that Virgin does that anymore either. Does BT still do it?

I rang BT an dthey can give me a landline at £19.23 inc 700 minutes. This is cheaper than SKY's combined Broadband/Talk deal so have opted for that.
Next task i sto decide on a 4g/5g broadband provider .
thank you both for your help.

already rolled in to give me that price as an existing user
