Not if you have internet calls with your Sky Talk service, as it's very likely. The only landline connection is via the socket at the back of the Sky Broadband Hub.

@ALLEN3 the simplest solution is probably to invest in a cordless DECT phone. The base station plugs into your broadband Hub, and the handset or handsets connect wirelessly to the base station. You can place the handsets or move them as you wish from one room to another.

Yes, they should be fine.

If they're VOIP phones, no, they won't work. Nor will they work if they're designed for BT's Digital Voice service. I wasn't aware that Panasonic had phones for either of those.

If you can tell us the model number, we can try to check them online.

So far as I can see, that's a standard DECT cordless phone. The picture here shows the handset placed on the base station. The cord which currently plugs into your wall socket just plugs into the Hub instead.
