Voicemail message waiting not working

I understand that if I have a new message in my voicemail box I should hear an interrupted dial tone when I lift the receiver.  I just hear a normal dial tone so I have no way of knowing if I have a new message or not.  Is there a setting that I need to change somewhere?

No, there's no setting, but Voicemail does have to be activated for you by Sky. It's not 'on' by default.

Thanks.  Voicemail is active, set up and working fine, it is just the indication that is missing

Give Sky a call (150 on your landline). I imagine the only thing they'll be able to do is deactivate and reactivate the Voicemail service to see if it fixes it.
