Phone not working as no dial tone

I recently moved. Our old phone was plugged in and had no dial tone so could not use. A new phone was plugged in and still no dial tone. If I phone the home number from my mobile, I hear ringing but my house phone isn't ringing. Help!

@Rowson9 there are changes being made to the way the voice line is provided. Instead of plugging the phone into the old phone sockets on the wall now with most new connections the phone plugs into the phone socket on the back of your Sky hub. Check if that applies to your new connection.
