Not receiving incoming calls on landline

I have transferred over to Sky 2 days ago asked to keep my landline telephone no.
Phone is plugged into Sky Hub as advised, I can make calls but unfortunately I am not receiving any incoming calls. The person ringing gets the message "this no is not in service' . I have tried switching off the hub and then turning it back on but still no incoming calls.
Everything is setup as per instructions, so I'm a little unsure  as to what is happening as it is impossible to speak to anyone in Sky to get an answer.

Help please.

@ReRa

Have you dialled 17070 from your landline phone and listened to the automated message which tells you your landline number? It might have changed.

Re: Not receiving incoming calls on landline

Hi i dialled 17070 and the telephone is correct. I requested a call back which I received after 2 minutes. However if I ring the number using my mobile I get the message no is not in service. Am I doing something wrong?

Is this a black Hub, or a white one?

There's sometimes a delay in fully activating the phone service on a white Hub. I'd suggest leaving it until tomorrow, then carrying out a factory reset, by pressing the WPS button for 30 seconds. If you still have no incoming calls, it's probably best to report it to Sky. We can ask Sky's messaging team tomorrow to contact you here so that you can report it via a private online chat, if you wish.

Re: Not receiving incoming calls on landline

I did that but still not receiving incoming calls.

Spoke to a Sky person who was very helpful, when he called I received the incoming call but when my neighbour  tried to call me I didn't receive the call. The Sky guy has passed on the problem to technicians. Hopefully they can sort it on Monday.

Re: Not receiving incoming calls on landline

I transferred my broadband service to Sky on 16 April but still cannot receive calls on 21 April despite numerous complaints to Sky. The VOIP phone will make calls but callers are either cut off or get an unrecognised number message. No one at Sky appears to care. When I called their 150 number twice I was told it would be sorted out in a day or two but it has not been.

I should be getting calls from hospital and my GP about my treatment but have had none since this issue started.

If this cannot be resolved this week I will be forced to transfer to another provider & cancel my contract

@DaveAA have you checked to see if your number has changed? If not you can do so by dialling 17070. The recorded message will tell you the number allocated to your line.

Just so you know, we're Sky customers here, not Sky staff.

Re: Not receiving incoming calls on landline

I didn't imagine that BT number would work with Sky. It confirms that Sky have given me the WRONG number, despite telling me that they could port my number. I would never have dreamt of transferring to Sky if they'd told me that they would change my phone number.

I now need to get them to sort this out. Fortunately I'm still within the 14 day so-called cooling off period. Thanks for your help.

@DaveAA if you speak to Sky they should be able to sort it out for you. It will involve cancelling your service and reinstating it, which means around 2 weeks without any broadband or phone service.

Just to let you kmow this has to be done within 30 days of switching to Sky, otherwise your old number will be lost.
