No dialling tone on landline

Have just moved broadband to sky with landline but have no dialling tone. When i call number from mobile, there is ringing but not at the handset. Unable to dial out at all with landline either.

Does your broadband hub have a voice light on it because if it does and it is lit then have you got the phone line plugged into the back of it ?
