Discussion topic: No dial tone

No dial tone

Broadband is working fine but I can't make or receive calls. There's no dial tone.  If anyone calls me they just hear 'Sorry, the person you are calling is on another call'.

 

I've followed the Sky troubleshooting and also plugging another phone in but still the same. I'm guessing there's an external issue. I need it working urgently as my elderly dad needs to be able to contact me.

 

Please help.

Are you new to Sky Talk, or recently upgraded your broadband package? I assume it was ok up to now.

I've been using Sky Talk for years, issue started today. 
Dudley, West Midlands area. Checked BT site and no known issues in the area apparently.

Thanks. It will need to be reported to Sky, then. If you wish, we can ask Sky's messaging team to contact you here, probably tomorrow now, so that you can do that?

OK, I've flagged your post to Sky and a Community adviser may be able to help you via private, online messaging tomorrow. Look out for a blue/red chat 'bubble' towards the bottom of the page. Replies from Sky may not be instant, so check back from time to time for updates.
