My broadband is working fine but my landline phone doesn't have a dial tone.

  • My broadband is working fine but my landline phone doesn't have a dial tone. I tested the phone at another port and it works fine but not when connected to the microfiber.

Sounds like the microfilter has developed a fault. You can buy a replacement online or at many hardware stores. They're not expensive.

Hi, I changed the filter and the phone is still not working.

Trying to figure it out....

Does your phone (and your broadband Hub) work when plugged into the master phone socket? Does the master socket have one port, or are there separate ports for phone and broadband?

And is it from an extension socket (not the  master socket) where the phone works ok?

Both were working a few weeks ago from an extension socket but now the phone has stopped working but when i plug it into the master socket it works OK.

Possibly a fault with the wiring to the extension socket, or the extension socket faceplate, as the phone works OK from the master socket.

I'm afraid it's vry unlikely that Sky will be able to help with this. Their (and Openreach's) responsibility ends at the master socket, which you say is working ok. Extensions are a homeowner's responsibility.
