Landlines all dead.
Having changed my handsets for new ones all my phones went dead. No dialling tone, incoming or outgoing calls possible, just says "check line cord". This has happened in the past and I have just twiddled the batteries which sorted it out. Not this time!
Have I connected the new phones to the wrong sockets?
Where the line comes in I have 2 separate single socket boxes which arelinked with a cable. Never been a problem before.
I have a microfilter with 2 sockets.
Broadband is working fine with the router plugged through the filter and into one of the main boxes.
I have the phone also plugged into the filter.
My fixed phone is also dead.

Re: Landlines all dead.
Have you still got one of your old handsets to see if that still works? That would help to check whether it's an issue with the new ones.
Are you new to Sky Broadband/Talk? Or recently upgraded your broadband package?

Re: Landlines all dead.
Hi Mark39. Thanks for your speedy response.
Yes I have the old hand sets and that was the first thing I tried but that was dead too. It all seemed to happen when I was changing things over. I fully expected the old sets to go back exactly as they were but then, nothing is straight forward in this house.
To make matters worse I am (considered to be) an elderly disabled widow, living alone (with 2 cats and a dog), a bit eccentric and technically incompetent.
I don't really understand all these details and find trawling through websites a total minefield.
What I need, I think, is someone to talk me through it very slowly. It would be nice to just ring Sky and get through to an engineer.
I forgot to say that I have done the connection test which showed no problems.

Re: Landlines all dead.
You're ahead of me @LOLLIPOP2 !
I can't think of anything obvious that might be the problem, so it's best reported to Sky, I think.
Give them a call, if you have the means, or alternatively we can arrange some help here via a private online chat (tomorrow) with a Sky adviser, if you wish. Let us know if you want to try that.
