My parents recently had Sky glass installed which includes phone calls. They have plugged their DECT phone into the hub correctly and the green voice light is on. However, the landline doesn't work. An engineer advised them to get a VOIP phone but I don't believe this is correct. Does anyone know what could be wrong!"? Thanks

Sky Glass is a television set and subscription television service. Sky Talk is bundled with Sky Broadband, not Glass.
While Sky Talk Internet Calls is VoIP from Hub to the internet, it absolutely does not require a VoIP handset, and those won't work without a separate subscription to an external VoIP provider.
Plugging a standard analogue handset or DECT base station into the appropriate phone socket on the rear of the Hub (not the purple one) should be all that's required

Thank you for replying. I wasn't very clear, yes they have the broadband bundle with calls.
There doesn't seem to be any reason for the landline not to work. They have contacted Sky who said they would call back but they didn't. My parents are elderly and find it all very stressful!
I will try and contact Sky on their behalf.

Do they think it is not working because there is no dial tone?
Have they tried dialing a number?

There is no dial tone. The phone display says service unavailable.

Nearly a year ago would you believe!! The phone has never worked. I'm pretty sure they have restarted it a few times but I'll ask them to try it again. Thanks

That's no answer. Why is it not working?
