Landline not working: can receive calls but can't make calls
Hi I had my new sky fibre activated on Monday and since then my landline has had an issue, i can receive calls but i can’t make calls as the phone dials and then makes a strange sound which then turns into a beeping like sound.
The solutions I have tried:
- Resetting Hub
- Tried different connection wires
- Checked server status and says everything is working
Additional information:
- Landline is Panasonic KX-TGC220ES landline phone we have had for at least 10 years
- Also every time I try to go on sky talk shield I get a technical error message
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a black Hub or white? If it's a black Hub, is the Voice light on the front panel illuminated? Amber or Green?
I assume your phone is plugged into the socket at the back of your Hub.

I have the black hub and the voice light is green. Yes the phone it plugged in the back of hub.

Try resetting your Hub again, by switching off at the plug for 30 seconds. If you stilll can't make calls, it's probably best reported to Sky. We can ask Sky's messaging team to contact you here so that you can report it via a private online chat, if you wish.
The Sky Talk Shield issue which affects some customers has been around for some while. So far, Sky haven't provided a fix. You can still use the phone buttons to add numbers to your star list or block them.

OK, I've alerted Sky and a Community adviser may be able to help you via private, online messaging later today. Look out for a blue/red chat 'bubble' towards the bottom of the page. Replies from Sky may not be instant, so check back from time to time for updates. Once the chat is activated it remains open for 48 hours, after which it will automatically close..
