There is no dial tone when I lift up the receiver, and whenever calls come in the line just crackles. I've been through all of the troubleshooting steps but the problem persists. We had this issue a few years ago and the issue was with the external phone lines.

No recent changes - we've been with Sky for years. We just noticed that our phone line stopped working a few nights ago. We've tried replacing the cable, and testing with a different phone, but there was no difference. Our broadband is fine.
