Land line not working

My land line is not working, totally dead, no ring tone. Can't ring out on it and when I ring the land line number from my mobile it doesn't ring.. My internet connection is working OK and I have checked everything viz-a viz connections that Sky tells me too.  I've tried ringing Sky on my (non Sky mobile) three times and been advised 20 minute waiting time. Does anyone know of an e-mail address or web chat facility that would get me some Sky help.

Land line now working again, roughly 48 hours after I telephoned Sky. Thanks to all who have posted in this thread I've learnt things that will be useful in future.

I’ve escalated your post to Sky and they may get in touch with you tomorrow about this.

Look out for an email and also a blue/red speech bubble on the bottom of your forum page. Once that speech bubble appears you only have 48 hours to instigate the private chat or it will close automatically so don’t miss this opportunity. Please make sure that your email/private message notifications are switched to ‘on’ to avoid missing the alerts. Replies on the chat aren’t instant so keep checking the chat thread regularly.

@Daniel0210 thanks for the super speedy response. I'm not working tomorrow so will monitor this to ensure I'm on point when the response comes through.

Spoken to person at Sky rather than chat facility. He was knowledgeable and helpful. He did a line test that failed and so has arranged for an  Openreach engineer to visit in next 48 hours.

Openreach normally aim to fix reported faults within 3-5 working days of being notified of them, but that could easily lengthen due to bad weather causing high demand. Hopefully they won't need to dig any roads up as that will increase any delay whilst council permission is obtained.

My fixed phone line is the same and has been since Monday, reported it with a phone call, told that an open reach engineer would be round today in the morning. Have waited in all day and guess what, no one has turned up or called. Not impressed.

 

have tried ringing sky today and only get put on the broadband waiting line, it is not broadband, it is the fixed phone line.

 

how do we complain or get compensation for not being able to use what I have paid for.

when a fault is diagnosed Sky will pass it to Openreach to carry out the repair. Openreach normally aim to fix reported faults within 3-5 working days of being notified of them, but that could easily lengthen due to bad weather causing high demand.


See this link re auto compensation for when there is a total loss of Sky Broadband or Sky Talk. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation 
If you have a total loss of service and it isn’t fixed after two full working days from when you first report the fault to Sky , you will become eligible for it.

You are not talking to Sky here as we are customers like you.

 

If you haven't already, then run this line test to see if a fault is found outside of your property and if something is found you can book an engineer repair:

Hi my name is Lilian jaffray iam a SkyQ customer I went active On 7th July my broadband is working and my tv working but my landline isn't working I can't phone out receive calls and no dial tone
