Sky fibre broadband installed today no phone completely dead

We had broadband upgrade today and we pay sky for broadband and sky talk. Our phone is now dead no dial tone nothing and it is plugged into the new modem but the voice button is not green. The engineer said it would come on after a couple of hours but it hasn;t. I,m very angry right now as I was told the phone would still work and I have 2 elderly relatives living here who rely on the landline, Any ideas what is causing this. Tried ringing our number from my mobile but it won;t connect.

Previous posts indicate that it may take up to 24 hours for the phone service to be fully activated.
