We are getting up to 7 calls a day (not at night) where the phone display shows the message "Incoming Call". When we pick up the phone we only hear the dialling tone. If we let the call go to the answering machine it will record a lot of static noise then stop. Although we have a telephone socket with a built in filter I have tried adding another filter but this has not stopped the false calls.

Further developments...... I picked up the phone to dial out and heard a discussion going on! Issue reported to Sky Engineers (who were very quick to answer the phone) Line tested a fault found all within 10 minutes. Thank you.

Fax machine perhaps? No amount of microfilters will stop these calls, I'm afraid, but you could use the Sky Talk Shield to block the number, or screen the call.

Thanks Mark. But ......... No phone number displayed so cannot block the number. That is why I thought it might be something to do with static or something similar. Definitely no FAX machine in the house and cannot think of anyone with a FAX machine who would try to contact.
