My mainline phone has gone completely dead over the last couple of weeks. I have used my mobile but I am of a senior age and want backup of mainlinephone. I checked the line with my friends independent corded phone but still showing No Outside Line. I than presumed it is an outside fault. I tried phoning my landline from mobile and it is sayjing USER BUSY. Can you help me please. Thank you Mrs Jill Read

Sky don't provide a landline service only. If you switch broadband to another provider, you're switching your landline too, unless you ordered Virgin's broadband only. In that case your Sky landline would be cancelled.

Inevitable really as Sky Broadband and Sky Talk landline have been bundled together for years.

Not the same issue at all: you (unwittingly) cancelled the voice service yourself. Split provision where broadband and voice calls are from different providers is obsolete: Sky is an ISP and has no separate phone capability for either supply or billing, as is the case for almost everyone else in the business apart from legacy BT accounts.
