If I can't get hold of existing phone number then please cancel my landline, I will get only  broadband.

That's not possible,  I'm afraid,  as broadband is delivered via your phone line (unless you have a separate fibre optic cable to your home). Note we're customers here.

The cost of landline rental is bundled into the broadband subscription cost because as @Mark39 indicates it's required as a data bearer.  This is not the same thing as an inclusive calls package, which with Sky are optional extras.  The default Sky Talk package is PAYG with an unpleasantly high cost per minute.
