Digital Phone to Sky Hub

I have a new Sky Hub and am trying to connect my digital (DECT) house phone to it. I can make calls from the phone but cannot receive calls (just getting a busy signal). I’ve tried turning everything off and on but to no avail. Sky chatbots are useless. HELP!!

Hi @David327 First, I'd suggest checking your phone number - if you asked for it to be ported from EE it may not have happened. You can check it by dialling 17070. The recorded message will tell you your number.

@David327 have you switched to Sky? Or is this simply a replacement Hub? When did you set it up?

Hi Mark

I have just switched to Sky (from EE) with a Talk Package. The phone is plugged into the new hub and is compatible. Just can't receive calls.

Hi Mark

Issue solved. Sky had given me an incorrect phone number when I had requested to keep my original phone number. It seems that the only way to retrieve that number is for Sky to cancel my original contract and start a new contract together with a new router!

@David327 I'm glad you have a way forward. This scenario has occasionally been reported here before, and yes, it does mean cancelling your service and reinstating it to get your number ported. I believe it entails being without broadband/landline for several days.
