Check phone line

Brought new landlines phone,but won't work. Just says check phone line, which I have. Any advice?

Have you made any changes to your broadband package recently ?

 

If not do the phone cables plug into your phone box or the back of your broadband hub ?

Well,the old phone(it's my mums and had it years) stopped working, so I bought a new one so thinking about it now its probably the phone box that gone so have to get sky out I think. Thanks again

Does your broadband router have a voice light on it that is lit up ?

@Blondebird1 try the simple connection test here, even if your broadband is working ok: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

 

If it detects a fault, and there's no general outage, you'll be able to book an engineer, there and then,

 

If it doesn't find a fault, it's probably best to report it to Sky. They can run some in depth tests to establish whether it's a problem with your master phone socket or somewhere externally. We can ask Sky's messaging team to contact you here so that you can report it via a private online chat, if you wish - but tell us the result of the connection test above first.
