i switched from BT to sky talk in December and the landline hasn't worked since. I also upgraded to sky fibre at the same time. The broadband works fine.
all I get is a please check phone cord message. I've done all the usual checks.

Does your sky router have a voice light on it that is lit up and if it does is your phone cable plugged into the back of it ?

See if you can run this line test to see if a fault is found outside of your property and if something is found you can book an engineer repair, ignore the fact it says it will test your broadband:
