Can Sky be seen to discriminate?

I came to Sky as Virgin couldnt provide a safe connection for me, i need my internet wired in due a condition called Electrohypersensitivity. As i cant use a mobile phone anylonger i added sky talk to my package. On using it my symptoms started and i was told it was Wi-Fi calling. I asked immediatley for it to be removed, we are now in September and im still sending emails to try and resolve it! They tell me i need to call to remove it! I think someone is missing the point. Surely they cant be seen to discriminate. People note Epilespy, a reaction to lights, but as this isnt as well know its dismissed. Im sick of wasting money on a product i dont use and customer services are useless and keep replying the same way. Its as simple as flicking a switch for them, but puts me under a lot of stress. I will never put a mobile phone to my head again, i avoid them like the plauge and i dont have anyone to ask other than my son and im not putting him in that situation either. Anyone had any luck removing a product without calling customer services? Thanks

Wifi calling is a feature associated with mobile phones. I can't see how it would apply to a landline phone.

@Emma368

I suspect you mean Sky Talk Internet Calls ('VoIP') rather than 'WiFi calling', which as @Mark39 indicates is a cellular phone thing where a 'smart' mobile handset talks wirelessly to a local internet router rather than a more distant phone mast.

Sky Talk Internet Calls works over a cabled connection between an analogue handset and router, but unrelated to that your Sky Hub will be radiating wireless signal unless you've specifically switched WiFi off (which isn't something an ISP is going to do for you, but is easily achieved)

Note that Sky Talk Internet Calls is a default service and cannot be removed from a Sky Broadband subscription: it has no cost if outbound calls aren't being made.

Without wishing to diminish your own experience, given EHS caused by exposure to EMF is not generally accepted as a medical condition at this time I'd suggest 'discrimination' is going to be hard to argue successfully, and consequently I'm not aware of any requirement for ISPs to provide specific service or support for customers who believe they are affected.

Re: Can Sky be seen to discriminate?

Thanks for your input. I dont know what the name is for the calling service is, its irrelevant,  however added it at the time of purchase, it costs £8 per month and i dont use it, so i just want it removing, simple ask dont you think. And i dont use a phone so how can i get this removed? If you had a health condition and was asked to use the thing that made you ill would you do it.....

Yes i have removed the wifi radiation in the settings.

No this isnt a recognised condition as yet, its a ticking time bomb and some countries recognise it as so and have also removed wifi in school to protect the future generation.

Industry know, just as they did with tabacco, it took 50 years to come to the surface from the research they hid to the mainstream. Its all about money as always.

Do your research... A good place to start... Resonance Beings of Frequency... if your interested

@Emae1 I can only guess you're referring to a call package, which discounted, might cost £8 per month. You can cancel it by contacting Sky. Just ask to be moved to the Pay as you Talk package which doesn't cost anything as you don't use the phone. It has nothing to do with wifi calling, however.

You can contact Sky to cancel via their social media pages here: https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Account-Billing/Want-to-private-message-Sky/ba-p/4895295

It's extremely relevant, because it enables Support staff to know what they are supposed to be removing: the price suggests this may be 'Sky Talk Evenings and Weekends Extra'.

As @Mark39 said, a Sky Talk Internet Calls add-on is absolutely nothing to do with 'WiFi calling', and having such a subscription supplement on the account makes zero difference to what the router is doing: it's a billing function which means calls during the relevant period aren't charged per minute.
