I have a cordless standard DECT phone and the phone is only returned to the base unit overnight to recharge (in fact the user guide advises not to leave it on the charger all the time, in order to preserve battery health.)

Thanks, I have a BT cordless unit with an ansaphone base, but if I bring the handset into the living area I'm not sure the battery will last
i suppose what I need is a silent base for the bedroom and a separate handset with charging base
