BT Essentials cordless not working with Sky

I recentley moved broadband from Vodafone to Sky, I had a BT Essentials DECT phone connected to the Vodafone router and it worked ok

 

When I connected it to the Sky router, I get a ring tone but when I enter the nuumber and hit the send key I get a three note error tone playing continually. Also when I ring the landline from my mobile I get the unavailable message, I also borrowed a neighbour's handset but got the same error tone

 

I spoke to Sky support for about an hour and after many lines of investigation they suggested replacing the router. The router arrived but the same problem persists. Can anyone explain why my phone worked with Vodafone but not Sky?

A few questions:

 

When was your Sky broadband/Talk service activated?

Is your broadband Hub grey or white?

If it's grey, is the Vpice light on the front panel illuminated,  and if so, amber or green?

It all looks OK, but obviously not. I'm afraid you'll have to pursue this through Sky. We can ask their messaging team to contact you here so that you can do that via a private online chat, if you wish. First, however, try restarting your broadband Hub, by switching off at the plug for 30 seconds, on the off chance that it has been resolved  'behind the scenes'.

I tried to restart but nothing changed so please let the sky team know

OK, I've alerted Sky and a Community adviser may be able to help you via private, online messaging later today. Look out for a blue/red chat 'bubble' towards the bottom of the page. Replies from Sky may not be instant, so check back from time to time for updates. Once the chat is activated it remains open for 48 hours, after which it will automatically close..
