Activation Talk phone landline help

My landline has been activated to day but cannot connect my phone I have plugged the grey cable  into socket but then instruction say plug purple connect into my sky Q hub. Already a lead into it direct from my master microfilter in the wall. if iiu disconnect this no broadband or homephone. i have tried  connecting to uk phone phone at the back of my sky q hub but grey lead connector boes not fit. I have tried chat line but unavailable and as a pensioner do not have a mobie smart phone. Have I been sent incorrect equipment can i revert back to BT cable until fixed as I need a phone. Help please

The Sky Q hub is now obsolete and Sky are sending emails and letters to customers still with this hub to replace it free of charge. I swapped mine to the Sky Broadband Hub in February 2025. 


A phone won't plug into a Sky Q hub. You need to contact Sky to arrange this swap.

In the meantime will i not have a landline phone can they reconnect me to the old BT cable until then. How do i contact sky about a new hub as i have no landline phone connection which I need as  i am pensiiner and need my phone as no mobile

Why did sky send me leads without a new Sky Q hub. I needa labdline as i am a  single pensioner and do not have a mobile. Can they switch my back to old BT cable until such time as new hub is received. How dom I contact sky  about new hub etc without a phone

I see you had some landline phone issues 4-5 weeks ago so you were already with Sky, so what was activated today?

All has been fine after an Open Reach engineer found a fault with the wiring in an outside connection since then . But going digital activation today and not being able to connect with to my Sky Q hub with leads sent. Can Sky switch me back to old connection not digitial as I need my landline for emergencies until such time the correct equipment can be sent to me. Is there any way a Sky employee can contact me to help me get it sorted as the  Chat line is permantly unavailable and no other means of contacting anyone. Thank you

Not sure why your hub hasnt been changed. To see if they can help you I’ve escalated your post to Sky and their Community Messaging Team should make contact with you later.

Look out for a post on this thread from one of the team inviting you to a private chat and then you should see a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread periodically.

Thank you. for your help. I will keep my eyes open for a communication from a Sky employee. Hopefuly it van fixed soon as I need my landline so i consider it to be quite urgent

Matter has now been resolved thank you. I do not why Sky sent me cables package as they were not required and was the reason it made an easy solution complicated
