i will be moving house soon. Can I leave the Sky satellite dish up for the new owners or does Sky need to remove before we leave?

Sky doesn't take down dishes at all.
Typically for a house sale there will be a form from your solicitor where fixtures and fittings get listed, and the dish will be one of those.
If you did choose to remove it (and there's no reason to do so) you'd be expected to make good the brickwork and cable entry hole, so it's really not worth the effort and expense unless that's a condition of sale.

Sky Q boxes are loaned. Dish ownership still transfers to the occupant upon installation.
