Where is my Sky F1 red button?

One of the on air F1 pundits stated that this year, as well as Glass, Q customers, 'ordinary' TV viewers would now have access to the Sky F1 'red button'. Well, it hasn't appearied on my TV.

I went onto 'Sky Help' (LOL), and have tried everything on their link to activate it, still nothing

Was the TV guy simply lying?

@StephenSky  The red button functionality only works on sky tv platforms except Sky plus ( sky have as of this season removed it permanently from this platform)

it also works on sky sports app for mobile devices

Re: Where is my Sky F1 red button?

I wonder why the on air guy made the statement then. Oh, I have already tried my 'SkyGo' app, and there is no red button available on the F1 channel.

It's technlgically feasible, as when Sky 1st forced me to pay for F1 back in 2012, the red button was really good. Then they withdrew it to force folk to give them more money in other platforms...

@StephenSky  You need to use the specific sky sports app not sky go the two apps are completely separate

sky plus is a legacy product which sky no longer sells or supports (the commentary was most likely referring to all current platforms that Sky do sell and support)

Perhaps it's to do with Sky+ being a legacy platform, no longer marketed and increasingly unsupported. Sky refer to Sky Q as being their current satellite platform - maybe that's what they mean when they talk about 'ordinary' tv viewers. Just guessing, really.

Edited to add, @SKY1992bf looks like we're thinking along similar lines....

Re: Where is my Sky F1 red button?

Just downloaded 'Sky Sports' app. Yes, I can now access additional features, thank you. Though to be honest, squinting at a 5" screen isn't my idea of entertainment. I'm use to Sky treating me like a 2nd class customer despite being loyal to them for 30+ years, I'm a glutton LOL.

It is sad but Sky expect loyal customers to switch to their current supported platforms🤔

When Sky stop supporting DSat they'll expect customers to switch to the internet😉

I'm going to hate that! I love having my 'box' full of my favourite recordings, they're like old friends. Still, the young'uns in charge haven't a clue how the world worked pre internet, so think it's all utopia. Wait till they're in a queue in a shop and the 'signal' fails and they can't pay for anything. My bank card never needs charging, and even when dropped, still works just fine 🤣

Luckily, I'm of an age that I'll not see this all through good luck to you all...
