Subtitles

Have been watching Gold Rush for years on Discovery and noted recently that subtitles are now on whereas they weren't previously.However when I watched the most recent episode they had disappeared again.

I always record these and watch later.It isn't a settings issue is it or just an oversight from Discovery?

Anyone know how these things work?
