Sky tv crashed

Watching recorded programme 4 hours ago, suddenly Sky went off, tried reboot Sky 1 hour ago, looked to start reboot but did not complete as I still cannot get it to open. Sky allegedly reporting no problems my area. Not helpful.

Any helpful suggestions welcome, thank you.

There's no such thing as regional problems with Sky TV.

What's actually happening? Any error message? Do you see the usual menu options? Is live TV ok? Or is it just a problem with recorded programmes?

That's typically messaging related to Sky Broadband: given the Astra 28.2E satellite footprint covers the whole of the UK and ROI plus a chunk of mainland Europe, as @Mark39 indicates it's not relevant to Sky Television unless there's been a very unfortunate accident in orbit....
