Sky remote, no sky box

Hello,

I bought a remote (model NR9214) which didn't say Sky anywhere on the packaging, but in the manual it says I need to use a sky+ box, which I don't have, to configure it to my TV. Is there any way to bypass this?

Not familiar with this model number. Who is the manufacturer of the remote? I've no idea why you might need to use a Sky+ box to configure it - there's no Sky+ function for that.

Sorry, baffled.

This, I'd think

It appears to be clone of a Sky+ HD remote: why would you purchase one if you don't have that (antique) satellite television box?

It serves no purpose even if you are running Freesat directly into your television set through an on-board tuner.

Thanks @TimmyBGood

@Alex276 that remote may be capable of controlling your TV's basic functions (volume, on/off for example) providing it,can be programmed with the correct code for the make and model of your tv.

You don't need a Sky+ box to programme it.
