You only need to scan for channels if your TV has a satellite input socket and you're connecting the dish cable to the TV.

As you're using a Sky box with the dish cable(s) connected to the box,, just connect it the box the TV using scart (if it's an older box) or HDMI cable and select the input it's connected to. The Freesat channels will be available by default.

As @Mark39 indicates, 'scanning for channels' isn't relevant for a Sky box.

You would carry out such a procedure if you are using a digital terrestrial television tuner or satellite tuner built-in to the television set (with coaxial aerial or dish cable plugged into the back of the TV)

The output from Sky hardware is found by selecting the relevant HDMI input (or SCART socket if it's antique)  using the television remote control handset.
