Have unplugged, checked the fuse in the plug, still no joy

Sounds like it's time for a replacement, you can find secondhand Sky+HD boxes online or locally

 

You need to look for the DRX890 and DRX895 (bigger HDD) models as these are the newer ones with the most up to date software
