Watching both FBI and FBI International tonight on SKY WITNESS and every few minutes the sound keeps going off for a second or two. There are no adverse weather conditions in my area at the moment and it was fine earlier when I was watching ITV. I'm wondering if it's a problem with the programme recordings themselves at Sky's end. Anyone else experiencing this.

@Annie+UK @Thank you. I've just checked the signal settings and they look to be fine

As stated by Yorkyman55 there seems to be a problem with intermittent sound loss on Sky Witness channel which has started over the past week/ten days. Was watching FBI Most Wanted tonight 30 September and the sound cut out about 4 or 5 times for a couple of seconds. Has also done it several times whilst watching FBI and FBI International the previous night and last week. Happened on both my televisions in separate rooms which both have Sky HD+ boxes connected. Definitely a problem with this channel. Anyone know what the problem is?

I noticed last night when I was watching the FBI programmes that it was doing it again. I've not encountered it on any other SKY channels that I watch. Definitely a strange one. The fact that you have also got the same problem suggests to me that it's either a problem with the channel or the recordings of FBI. I'm going to see if I can make time tomorrow to contact SKY and see if they can throw any light on it. I'll update here accordingly

I've been in contact with SKY today. This may not work straight away (may take a week or so is what I was told) if at all but I have done it this afternoon and up to now sound seems okay on channel.
Using remote control select SERVICES > HELP >SKY+ REBUILD
It will take a few minutes but eventually the box will go into Standy By at which time I turned it back on.
Doing the rebuild won't delete any recordings you have

Ok thanks will give it a go but still think it's a problem their end and not ours! Have been a Sky customer for many years and have never experienced this problem! Did they give any reason as to why it has been happening? Would like to know if other people are having the same issue.

Me neither and I have been with them since the days of analogue when you had to pay about £250 for a box but most channels apart from movies and sports were free. The advisor I spoke to told me they had not received any other calls in regards to the issue. It happened to me again last night when I was watching blue bloods. I think the crunch time will be this Thursday when the FBI series is on again. It has happened the last 2 weeks so we'll have to see what happens this week

When I googled this problem, I found loads of articles with reference to this problem but it also seems to be a problem affecting Sky Q customers as well on other channels so seems to be a widespread problem and several people say they are just being given the brush off by Sky. Will monitor the problem going forward. I did get the same problem on Sky Geographic channel the other night and when it went to the adverts, it suddenly cut one of them off before it had finished! It is definitely strange that the problem has only just started these last couple of weeks.

At least they can't blame it on the HD+ box then. Every time I ring up about anything they try to persuade me to have a SKY Q box for no extra cost. However, as I have explained to them I would lose all the recordings I have on my existing box. Thanks for the heads up, I'll monitor the other channels I watch

Bear in mind you'll lose them anyway when the hard disk fails. Unless it has already been replaced, it may well be 6-7 years old and on borrowed time.

I'll have to keep my fingers crossed that I can watch a lot of it before that happens

Just out of interest, is this Sky Community a free site as I don't want to suddenly find I get billed for using it as I have never been on this site before!
