Sky + Sort

I have the option of using "Sort by" available to listing of "recordings".  If I select program and choose the recording remains in most recent.  Not sure of the purpose of sort.  

With my wife in a care home.

It's really a filter. "Recordings" is unfiltered, ie "All" the whole list.

 

The other options filter out types which don't match, eg "Entertainment" shows only those types of recordings.
