Sky Signal

Evening All,

So...

Many channels have stopped working

(103, 105, 107, 108, 111, 112, 113, 114, 118, 122 to name a few....)

"Your Sky+HD box isn't getting a satellite signal. 25".

I initially thought it could be something to do with polarisation, but changing to horizontal killed the lot so probably not...so did switching to single feed so I've scrapped that. I swapped the cables at the back of the box but it was still input one that isn't working. It's probably as simple as the error message states - there's no signal!? It's reminiscent of when I cancelled Sky years ago, I could only access a few channels on the box and even some of the freeview channels wouldn't work (I think that was due to the signal coming from the Sky satellite that I no longer had access to? But whatever).

Point of interest; I recently added services to my account and can't help but think it could be linked to this as I have lost access to Sky on the Xbox and also lost access to the kids channels (I noticed the kids channels were missing immediately following the conversion with the Sky advisor and naturally got them back sharpish - but at an additional cost!).

I couldn't help having a suspicion that something was going to go wrong which is why I asked him to confirm that everything was going to continue just as before and he even reinforced the point that nothing was going to change except the new-low price....yet here we are!

I admit that making such assumptions at this stage is unfair, but it does appear that the sky advisor may have cocked something up with the changeover. Regardless, whether this is indeed the cause or not, the family and I now can't watch the telly! Like living in the dark ages when there were just 4 channels to choose from! It's inhumane! I would therefore very much appreciate some help getting this resolved please.
It may be worth adding that I have followed several online help suggestions to no avail.

One thing I noticed was that there was no signal from input 1, but following a planner rebuild the signal came back strong?! Then, after selecting one of the previously missing channels, I got the same error message. I went bk to check the signal on input 1 and saw it was gone again?!

I've restarted, rebooted, switched off at the wall, waited 4 minutes blah blah blah. But nothing's working.
Obviouly feeling the ache in my balls getting worse...it's been over 48 hours.
I don't know what the hells going on but I'm hoping there's a genius here who can help coz I've had no joy actually getting to speaking to someone about this.
I've had Sky here for nearly 8 years, no problems. I finally call up about my package...think I'm getting a deal...and carnage! How's your luck.

Many Thanks In Advance,

Kind Regards

J

A 'no satellite signal' error is the result of a fault somewhere in your dish setup, or much less likely, with your Sky box.

Unfortunately Sky no longer provide engineer support for Sky+ systems unless you have Sky Protect, so you would need to engage a local satellite installer to take a look. Or consider, upgrading to Sky Q or Stream.
