So Sky are now stating that they do not support Sky + HD any longer - They don't repair cards and don't even have a tech support team.
Surely they need to be supplying tech support for services they provide or they would be in breach of contract terms - Not too sure OFCOM would approve of the treatment that Sky is now enforcing on their customers.
Refusing to re-pair a card to a box is essentially refusing to supply a service to a customer that is paying for this service.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSky still provide telephone support for Sky+ and Sky+HD but won't send an engineer and won't allow a viewing card to be paired to a box it wasn't already paired to at the end of October. Sky+ is an obsolete service I'm afraid.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI doubt there's any breach of contract, when Sky have offered you an alternative.
It's old and as with all technology, things move on. Even its replacement satellite service, Sky Q is 8 or so years old.

Why do you need to repair your card?

The contract has a generic clause that services may be withdrawn: all (sensible) businesses do that, or they'd be stuck supporting legacy hardware forever.

See above. Sky Group (a division of the Comcast Corporation) will have a small army of lawyers dealing with Ofcom compliance issues.
