Second class subscriber

I don't remember Sky sending out warnings to innocent Sky HD box users, paying a full subscription, that they would be discriminated against in terms of all that was available on Sky+. Particularly miffed to discover that I an watch American Tennis tonight but not the Rugby League from the UK. Will the HD Box get any more useless in the future and where was the warning?

@Wallace6  Sky sent out emails advising that support for Sky+HD was being withdrawn and to upgrade to Sky Q for free.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@Wallace6 Sky+ will inevitably continue to lose out to more recent technology which has greater functionality. That's not a new phenomenon for electronic equipment in general and is to be expected

Have you considered upgrading?

You can watch the rugby on the Sky Sports App on a mobile or tablet. Or, as of last week, on the Sky website on a laptop/PC. The laptop can even be connected to a TV via HDMI.

When the Sky Sports+ service launched (some time ago) it was clearly stated that Sky+HD Boxes couldn't access the streaming features.

Quite possibly: the youngest Sky+ HD box is now a decade old and incapable of hosting apps (as its operating system goes back to 2002)

and where was the warning?

The launch of  two  subsequent generations of viewing platform should probably be a clue.
