My old tv broken and my neighbour kindly gave me JVC smart tv/dvd with freeview. I have connected it to my old sky box which I previously used with my old tv. I have set up the sky remote but cannot get my tv to work unless I use an aerial and cannot get some of the channels I used to get (free sat channels). I currently have an aerial hanging over the door which is the only way to get a picture on my tv! The channel numbers seem to be freeview rather than sky .I.e bbc1 is number 1 rather than 101. How can I get free sat channels from my sky box ? Help

Hi. I've tried looking for that but the tv doesn't show SCART and there is no HDMI in the back of the sky box? The tv and channels come on with a manual aerial but if I remove it it says there is no digital signal ! Plus it doesn't seem to recognise the SKY remote other than to change channels or volume 😩

How have you connected your Sky box to the TV?

@Mark39 With a SCART lead as that was how I used it with my old tv. There is a satellite lead coming out of my wall which goes into the sky box. Then SCART lead from sky box to tv, but I have also had to plug in an aerial in the tv to get any channels ?

Find out more@DJLLOYD64 Check on the TV remote there shoud be a button to cycle through external inputs, it sounds like your defaulting to the freeview signal which come via your aerial cable so you will need to seek out the external input button on your remote.

@GD1 I have found the button on the tv remote and tried every option but nothing changes. I can only use the sky remote to change channels or volume.! Can't get the TV guide up or anything else with it. Bought a HDMI lead but no socket in sky box. So it's definitely something to do with the input do you think ? It's so frustrating 🙈🤷♀️😩

@Mark39 none of those on the JVC tv remote ? I know somehow I'm by passing Sky as the channel numbers are freeview rather than sky channels but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Think I have gone through every button on the remote 🤷♀️

@Mark39 Its JVC 32 LED Smart TV DVD player model LT-32C655(B). Do you need the model of the sky box to see if it's compatible? Thank you

Page 15 of the manual - Button 3 is the External input selecter, so on your remote top buttons Left to right are Power button, Netflix Button, Input selecter button. (Image posted below)
The input selecter button should cycle through available inputs when you press it, keep pressing to cycle to the scart input the Sky box is using, make sure Sky box is turn on/powered up.
EXT typically is the scart input.
Also make sure the scart lead is fully seated in on both the TV & Sky Box.

@GD1 Ahh 😌 The remote I have isn't that model ! The remote shows JVC RM-C3179. Looks like she's given me a different remote ! It works with the TV like !
