Not locked & null issue
Hi,
ive an issue with 2 sky+ boxes saying the same input one locked / null issue.
So we have a pub, have TNT run 3 sky+ boxes from 1 dish and our upstairs living area runs skyQ and seperate tnt from another dish.
By reading some of your problems it sounds as if the wire that runs 2 boxes (but can change channels and not have to watch the same) has rither come loose or needs replacing. 1 of the other boxes running from the tnt dish is working perfectly fine. Just 2 of them that run the same cable but dont mirror eachother isnt working.
Thats not a LNB (think thats right) issue & surely must be the cable ?
Make it make sense for me before spending ridiculous amounts of money kn an engineer 🤦🏾♀️ please

Re: Not locked & null issue
@natty42 I'm unclear about your setup. Can you explains what you mean by "TNT run 3 sky+ boxes" and "seperate tnt from another dish. "
How do TNT fit into this?

Re: Not locked & null issue
So it's a pub, we have BT sports (now tnt sports) which uses the sky platform. We have 2 dishes, 1 for upstairs and one for downstairs. For downstairs we have 3 separate boxes with different veiwing cards so we're able to show 3 different games when needed. 1 sky box is working perfectly fine..
we then have 2 boxes that run on the same wire to the dish. These 2 can get the standard bbc1 etc etc but are not getting any of our bt (tnt) sports channels. The input says not locked and null.... we've never had this problem and we've had this for 9 years.
im wondering if the word connecting from the sky box to the dish is faulty as the other box is working perfectly fine.

Re: Not locked & null issue
The old bt use the sky platform to enable watching / purchasing bt sport, now tnt sports
I've called and said I've a problem and gone through the diagnostics they have suggested and it now leaves me to book an engineer.
I hoped there could be another way before spending stupid money on engineers

Re: Not locked & null issue
@natty42 ok, it's not normal to have one dish connection supplying two Sky+ boxes - it won't work - so I imagine there's some additional kit somewhere that provides two independent feeds.
Unfortunately your issue falls outside the scope of this forum, which provides support for domestic customers, simply because we're not familiar with commercial setups. Probably best for you to seek help from Sky for Business: https://skyforbusiness.sky.com/sb/portal/business/uk/for_business

Re: Not locked & null issue
It's very normal, an engineer installed it. Just unclear as to why it's not working now when it has for such a long time. I think I've talked myself into it being the wire connecting to the dish anyway.
thanks for your help though

You do realise that the longer something is runnig the closer it gets to its failure rate

Re: Not locked & null issue
Considering 1 box is old yes.. the other 2 (1 working fine) and the other one is about 5 years old. I think it's probably the cable

Re: Not locked & null issue
Manufacture of Sky+ HD boxes stopped more than 5 years ago ... more like about 10 years ago🤔

That Sky+ HD boxes are significantly older than 5 years🤔

Re: Not locked & null issue
Ahh ok so what I mean by that is we've had it for 5 years.. roughly ..
so are you suggesting I get some new boxes or try the cable connecting 2 boxes to the dish?
don't want to go off topic and people "try and correct" for wording.
the first picture is our bt dish
hopefully the 2nd picture loaded which is our sky dish
