Magic Eyes

All my magic eyes have lights on and sky is going to all 3 tvs  The problem is that the remote control no longer works with the eyes only with the sky+.box

I've been told they are no longer supported and the only option is to have Sky Q to

have multi screen around the house

'Engineer' support for Sky+ and Sky+ HD hardware is no longer provided except under an existing Sky Protect policy.  I suspect 'magic eye' setups have never been officially supported by Sky personnel.

@nw64 are your magic eyes connected via an amplified splitter? Let us know. I suspect it's old and has developed a fault.

Re: Magic Eyes

Yes its connected to a splitter that is plugged in to an electrical supply The splitter feeds 4 tvs

I suspect that's the culprit.

You could test by bypassing the splitter, connecting the cable from the splitter to one of the tvs, direct to the cable connected to the splitter's input from your Sky box. If that magic eye then works, you'll know the splitter's faulty.

Edited to add: alternatively you could take a punt and just replace the splitter.

Re: Magic Eyes

This was all done about 15 years ago .Would you know what splitter to use that might be best

As I said previously the signal to the TVs is fine its the fact that the remote doesn't work on any of the eyes

Any with 4 outputs should be ok. Simpler if it uses the same connection type as your current one, that is aerial connectors or f-connectors, otherwise you may have to replace the plugs at the end of all the cables which would be a pain.

Happy to have look for you, but it would help to know the make and model of the one you have now, to make sure the replacement is compatible with your current setup.

Re: Magic Eyes

TV Link T180 is what's being used at the moment I've only got 4 TVs coming out of it

If that's a Global T180 you  might be able to buy just a replacement power adaptor. The T series uses standard coax tv connectors rather than f-connectors. It's the F series that uses f-connectors.

Failing that, I believe T180s or T140s (with 4 outputs) are still available. The T140 can be powered straight from your Sky box without needing a power adaptor.  If not, a Labgear or SLx (Philex) splitter/amp with as many outputs as you need should do the job.
