Lost channels on Sky plus HD box

I have a Sky HD box that i only use for freeview channels.

i have lost access to some channels that have moved to DVB-S2 from DVB-S

i had a local engineer come to change the LNB on the sky dish to work for the Sky plus box as I previously had Sky Q.

Can anyone shed some light on this please?

is it possible the wrong LNB was installed?

The box would not work in the wrong LNB was installed, it would report No Satellite Signal for ALL channels

Have you tried performing a new install? (see my Sky Plus FAQ)

Re: Lost channels on Sky plus HD box

Most channels do work, bbc1 HD and most other freeview channels do.

just the ones stated in the article above that have been moved recently to DVB-S2 do not. I get the no signal error.

it it most likely in wrong lnb was installed?

which lnb would i need?

thanks

As @Annie+UK posted, the wrong LNB would give you a 'no satellite signal' error on ALL channels. If you've tried restarting by switching off at the llug for 5 minutes to no avail, I'd suspect a slight dish misalignment.

hi @gurpsmufc

Just for info, Universal LNBs as used by SKY HD  & Freesat Boxes use a Voltage change & a 22KHz signal to change between Horizontal & Vertical Polorisations and Hi/Lo Bands so I guess it is  possible that your box or LNB are not performing as they should to select all 4 bands - which could explain selective channels (although not just a case of SD channels that have change transmission type to S2)

If you want to check frequencies & polorisations see this link
