We have a Sky+ System less than 1 year old. Just recently (a few weeks) it has been having issues with the planner. Now, when we go into a recorded item and fast forward (to skip past ads) it goes right to the end of the recording! It's beyond frustrating! We have tried everything suggested on the Sky help pages - planner rebuild, etc. (bar calling an engineer) but don't know what else to do. My husband is threatening to throw the whole thing out!! Any ideas please? If we have to watch everything in "real time" we may as well not record anything 😞

No, not doing anything differently. I know it does that. Thanks anyway.

Thank you. Is a "full power cycle" a fancy way of saying "switch it all off at the wall and on again"? If so, yes. If not, please explain?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Bears+House if a simple restart doesn't solve it, a Planner Rebuild is your next step: https://www.sky.com/help/home/sky-tv/sky-tv-plus/sky-plus-watching-sky-tv/sky-plus-recordings/articl...
Incidentally, all Sky+ boxes are at least 6 years old, the last ones being manufactured in 2015/2016

We've done a planner rebuild. I've also checked that the FF button on the remote isn't sticking! It works perfectly when FF live TV after pausing. It's only when playing back recordings.

Thank you for info about age too, I didn't know that. We only got Sky last year so I assumed box was "new"

Incidentally, after a planner rebuild it works perfectly... until the next day, when we're back to square one again!

Thank you. Yes, I've just checked and that's what it says. It's a 1TB if that makes any odds. It may be unrelated but we also keep getting a message that says we need to re-set our network connection? So we're having fun with that on a daily basis too! 🤯

They did, actually - I've still got mine!

😂 hilarious! Oh well, that's what the sky engineer who installed it told us! He said (wink wink nudge nudge) he didn't have any 500gb boxes so he'd had to give us a 1TB instead! Perhaps he was hoping for a glowing review!
