In the bad weather I lost some channels, it came up with Mini tv satellite no signal. I went on line to try and correct this and made the suggested changes. I have today got a new dish and all is working well except I cannot watch a programme and record another at the same time. It offers me another slot for the recording or to cancel it.

That will have included turning on Single Feed Mode in your Sky box settings.
You need to turn off Single Feed. Mode now. That will allow you to record two channels at the same time, or watch 1 and record anotherl

It has never been available from the Services menu. It's in the hidden Installer Menu, which you can access by keying Services,0,0,1,Select on your remote.
