That sounds like BBC2 SD not HD, which ceased at the beginning of the week.

Does it actually say BBC 2 HD or just BBC 2 ?

Sky+ boxes don't describe signal in that way. They show 4 white bars that should be at least half way across, as described in Annie's link.

Sorry yeah I understand now, have checked again PROPERLY and all the bars are well over 50%.  I can now get bbc2 hd on the tv, it's my phone app that's out of date and can't be updated, hey ho, thanks for your help
