I have recently upgraded from sky+ to Sky Q. I would like to finish watching what I have recorded on my Sky + box but can't seem to get past the 'your box is innitiating' page. Can anyone help?

Hi, thank you for that. Maybe I am being niaive but aren't the shows saved digitally on the memory of the box, and should in theory be accessable straight from the box? Or did the engineer do something to the box to wipe it before disconnecting? If he did, he should have said so when I told him I planned to keep the box to watch the saved shows.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYes, recordings are stored on the hard disk of your Sky+ box. However, the box needs a signal from your satellite dish to do anything, and yours isn't receiving one - hence the initialising message. It's not receiving a signal because when you upgraded to Sky Q, the LNB on the arm of your was changed and the LNB for Sky Q isn't compatible with Sky+

You two have been really helpful, many thanks. One more question if you don't mind - is there a userguide online for the Q Box? All I got from the engineer was a two-sided A5 card.

No, but the Help pages on the Sky website are intended to cover any queries.
