Although Sky no longer offers the Soundbox for sale, there are many thousands still in use and from what I see in the Sky Soundbox board, the setup and operation can still cause confusion.
So, I put together a quick guide for users that could help clarify a few things that some may find unclear.
You can use your Sky TV remote to control your Sky Soundbox, but be aware of potential conflicts.
If, for example, you try to control both your TV and Sky Soundbox with the Sky remote, you will not be able to control both TV volume and Sky Soundbox volume at the same time. That's why I don’t link my Sky remote to my Sky Soundbox.
You can turn on (green LED) the Sky Soundbox using its own remote, but when turning it off with the same button it only goes back into standby (orange LED).
You can use a paired Sky Q or Sky +HD remote to adjust the volume on, or mute the Sky Soundbox and with HDMI control set up you can use this remote to power on.
To switch the Sky Soundbox off completely (red LED), you just have to leave it about 20 minutes without activity for it to turn itself off.
