billing

hello i was wondering if someone may know the answer, im deaf so unable to call Sky, has there been an increase in prices and also with Netflix? i have noticed that from April on my streaming and then from may on my Broadband both have gone up. TIA

Yes - like all major providers Sky have annual prices rises.

 

These rises take affect from April so when looking at future bills you will see the price rises built into them. 

Before April you will get official notification from Sky detailing specifically to you what the price rises are per service/component and what options you may have.

Thank u, i have only just renewed my broadband and wasn't expecting an increase on that till 26, expected it on the streaming as i know it will go up every april but my broadband contract states to increase from 2026 and also my netflix which is included as increased, thank u for enclosing that very helpful

It's worth noting the 6.2% is an average price.

 

Sky apply the rises on the list price of a service orTV pack so typically the larger the discount you have on a service/pack the bigger the percentage increase it works out as, even those the actual amount increase pounds and pence is the same for each customer. Personally it's why I hate percentages being referred to as it can be quite misleading for a customer who thinks their bill will go up by around 6% but because they have larger discounts the actual percentage increase to their bill could be much higher.

@ChrisEB  Probably due to currently having some discounts but my increase works out at 13.5%.   The percentage increase will partly depend on the package, discounts and additional services a subscriber is signed up to.

I have noticed by bill going up about 8 or 10 pounds a month from April seems abit steep just stream TV no broadband. 

I am considering whether this is worth it. In recent years we lost Netflix standard now with ads, we recently lost paramount plus now with ads and the new skip ads button for sky on demand is nice but really at these prices it should be ad free on demand it's a premium price but the value seems to be going down year on year.

My TV Bill is going up 13.7% or £112 per year. Just signed up for another 2 years in December. Sky are saying in the press that the average increase is 6.2%, yet mine and it seems many orher are going up by double this amount. There is no way i would have signed up, if i knew that Sky were going to impose such a large increase. It is impossible to talk to anyone in the UK at Sky.  The whole experience is very poor!

@Bruce+S+G the increase is based on the list price of your services, not the discounted price you're paying.

The 13.7% is simply the increase in the price that i am paying.  I understand the issue with Discounts, but it is unforgivabable for Sky to say the average increase is 6.2% when clearly it is much higher for many users. My Sky Signature is increasing by £5.90 per month, Netflix premium by £2.49  per month and Sky Sports by £1.00 per month. Total increase is £9.39 per month.  The list price on signature has increased from £34.60 to £40.50, less my £14 discounts.

They can't quote the percentage increase for everyone, as it will be be different, depending on the discounts agreed and the products a customer has. The bigger the discount, the higher the perceived increase. It's an average of 6.2% for many customers who don't have a discounted deal.

Some years a customer is may get a lower than average price rise, other years it will be higher than the average As others have mentioned it's all based on the discounts you have and what packs you actually subscribe to. 

I know personally for me some years it's worked out below the average Sky publish and some years it's higher - but at the end of the day its probably worked out about even and matching the various averages they publish every year when taken as a collective over a couple of years.
