USELESS SKY PUCK REMOTE...

Is there a viable alternative remote to replace the original useless and overly simplistic Sky Puck Remote?

Not sure what you mean by multi function buttons. For programme up and down, use the up/down arrow buttons.

I suppose any third party remote capable of learning the the infra red codes from your Puck remote could be used. I have a Harmony remote which does the job. You can also use your Puck's voice control function for navigation and other instructions as an alternative to the keypad. You would, of course, lose voice control functionality if you use a third party remote.

Re: USELESS SKY PUCK REMOTE...

What specific model of harmony remote control do you use please?

Multi function. Power button. Quick press just switch off puck. Hold and CEC function works through hdmi and powers down TV and other connected devices. Circular button. Quick press just one line at a time on extremely busy user interface. Hold the circular button up or down. Then guide is searched by page. Very insensitive and not practical...

@AMH666 I use a Logitech Harmony Elite, to control multiple devices in different locations. It's no longer available, I'm afraid, but would likely be overspec'd (and pricy) anyway for your purpose.

Look for a remote capable of reading and recording the IR signal from your Sky remote, and assigning it to a button of your choice on its keypad.

The Sky Puck Remote connects through Bluetooth and then IR once connected.

I have seen the price of the Logitech Harmony Remotes. Definitely not worth getting for one function. I will investigate further because I have multiple devices connected, so we see?.

Puck only accepts one connected remote at a time, so the investigation continues... Thank you for info on your remote.
