Re: TCL Q7C - Sky UHD
@CLW4 to be fair the TCL Q7C does look like a really decent TV, I saw a YouTube video comparing it with an LG OLED and it really stood up.

Re: TCL Q7C - Sky UHD
From the outside looking in, it looks a very solid option. Obviously no idea about longevity of the TV, but at that price, you could buy two TCL TV's over 7/8 years and still have change vs a C5.

For anyone in the future reading this, I ended up buying the TCL C7K in 75".
after 48 hours of using all I can do is say WOW.
The picture quality is incredible, I was worried about HD upscaling but it is brilliant, especially on ITV strangely enough.
Sky Sports UHD channels are brilliant, albeit HLG does make the screen go initially darker but not like my old Samsung used to go dark and washed out, it's purposefully done to make colours stand out and the F1 for example is brilliant.
people online moan about the set up process but mine took no more than 5 mins and I already have a Gmail so I think that may have helped.
all in all, it's not OLED, it's never going to be OLED but for £999 for a 75", it's brilliantly good value. The screen brightness does need tweaking, it's so bright that in a dark room it could become overwhelming but a simple switch of settings covers that.

Re: TCL Q7C - Sky UHD
I've just bought the tcl c7k and on streaming apps like Disney netflix and prime the picture is fantastic but on my sky stream box watching movies and shows the picture is terrible it's blocky and grainy I've got everything eco setting turned off and all the picture enhancements turned off as well as all the clarity and motion presets turned off my broadband speed is 125 mbs which is fine as sky recommend 30 mbs for uhd any idea what I can do

Re: TCL Q7C - Sky UHD
I don't have the same problem but for Sky, I have my picture setting set to "Intelligent" and that's always worked perfect for me. Only when watching the UHD Sky Sports channels do I change it to Vivid because of HLG making the screen go darker, as soon as I change to Vivid it's perfect. Hope it works for you.

This is likely due to the higher levels of compression used for broadcast and on demand streams. Quality can vary wildly between channels too. Disney+ and Netflix have much stricter rules for quality and require their content to be mastered at higher bit-rates.
