Re: Home screen issues

So after looking for any replies to my issue,i came across a similar question as mine.

It turns out my issue is a common fault!!!!! something at sky`s end!!!!!

So all my wasted calls to sky could have been avoided if they told me its a known issue.

Thats if the advisors could be understood due to heavy accents!!!!

Am i going to get a refund for the past weeks poor viewing?

Think i will cancel my direct debit untill they stop what ever viewing i can see!!!!!

tHIS as got to be a recent ctrap update rolled out, needs sorting.

What a joke sky as become, glory days of Dish and brill sky+ are over.

think we will end contract early due to inadequate performance and use bt vision.

You could try negotiating a goodwill gesture from Sky

Unfortunately debt will still accrue while you aren't watching anything

Perhaps note that these days it's EETV: the 'Vision' branding ended more than a decade ago.

Re: Home screen issues

@Plumbduff   You haven't said what you have tried to solve this problem, so forgive me if I am speaking out of turn.

Have you tried an app refresh?  If not go to Settings, System management, Resets & restart.  Select App refresh. This will take a few minutes but will automatically return you to the Home Screen.  Once that is done go back in exactly the same but this time chose Restart.  Again wait for it to return you to the Home Screen.  Then see if that has helped.

Blank banner tiles

I have reported this to sky countless times , they promise to escalate but do completely nothing . Sky are undoubtedly the worst company I have ever dealt with . All they are interested in is increasing their subscription. rates . Service is non existent.

Re: Streaming puck user interface icon goes blank when selected

Thanks @KevNewMedia I think at this point it would be useful for daily updates on where we are, given this seems largely to be loss of service for people using the sky stream/glass interface.

For info, I can basically get the issue every time with general navigation. Basically hitting the back button or home button seems to trigger it very quickly, for me anyway, not sure about other folks. So if I'm watching live tv and hit either of those buttons, or scroll the TV Guide and do the same, I very quickly get the issue, 2 or 3 times and I always get it. I'm not sure if others have the same experience, but that's mine anyway.

I also notice at the same time, when the issue occurs, background images like those related to the currently selected TV shows or movies also fail to load, so may also be related.

This seems like an issue that was introduced really quickly via a client/server update, but seems to be taking an awful long time to fix. Most software development companies would look at changes introduced around the time of the issue (Mid April) and try to revert those changes or fix.

I'd suggest a daily post of 'we're still working on it' would get really tedious rather quickly.

Historically Sky doesn't do public progress reports, and only updates such threads to announce the release of a fix.

Hi Stephen 273

We have exactly the same issues as yourself, to start with it mainly happened around 8pm every day, however now it can happen anytime and several times a day🤷🏻‍♀️

Would like to think Sky at least has  some idea regarding cause and resolution

Re: Streaming puck user interface icon goes blank when selected

Yes it wil get tedious, but we've been getting the same **bleep** for nearly 2 months now, I don't want a "yes we're looking at it" notice. What I'm getting at is that after 2 months and having multiple "answers" saying this issue is being looked at, and given that it's basically loss of service, at this point, a daily update after having been wating so long, would be useful, to get to a point of a timeline for a fix.

This is loss of service, not a small issue that we can wait on, that's why I say daily updates, in any good company that values their customers, when a loss of service issue exists, there would be regular updates as to what they're doing about it, before we all leave

Blank \Blue tiles

Still not resolved 3 months after advising sky of the issue . Such a useless company . [Removed] . Keep saying they r escalating , keep saying it's a software issue but just sit on their backsides doing absolutely nothing . [Removed]

IMG_4516.jpeglooks like we've had an update over night, different UI version

Re: Streaming puck user interface icon goes blank when selected

Yes @Juliet96 , I see a new UI Build version : 3.214.2

I think I got that updated build 2 days ago and have not been getting the issue as much now (I did get it once), so it seems a bit more stable for me at least.

It's a pity sky don't issue release notes about build versions they've pushed out so we could see if they've address this or not. It seems better to me, but not sure if there's been anything specifically put in to address or if I'm just being lucky at the moment.

Don't know about the rest of you but the new UI  software (3.214.2) hasn't done anything for me. Same old blank icons again tonight.
