What is it with the stream remotes? absolute appaling quality. I have had 3 pucks/remotes for 1 mnoth now. 2 days ago one of the remotes failed, and today another one also failed. Yes I know its straight forward enough to get a replacement, but that just tells me that sky are aware of the fact that the quality is atrocious.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt seems to be the newer batches. I have my original Sky glass remote and 4 puck remotes and been on the system since December 2021!
Keep complaining and get them replaced and hopefully the quality will improve again!

Agree. I've had to order third remote in two months. The buttons are also soft and not very responsive. Appalling quality and environmentally wasteful as all these remotes will have a shorter lifespan and straight to landfill. Sky - please sort it out, we pay you money to deliver a service, not cause frustration and add to Britain's landfill volume. Whoever works in procurement and has signed these off deserves to be sacked.

I think batches (plural) - there have been far too many reports of failing remotes over many many months for it to be limited to a single batch. I got through three of them in my year with Stream. Each one failed with minimal useage for no logical reason other than being poorly manufactured.

I am sure there are bad batches out there. I have had my Stream for 18 months. My first remote stopped working and I requested a new one. Before the new one arrived, the original started working again and I haven't had any problems since. As a result I now have a spare remote in a drawer!

Ours have been fine other than occasionally failing to wake up. I've found that by removing the back and rolling the batteries a couple of times resolves this.
